Creation

In the beginning God created the heaven and earth and everything in them. Everything seen and unseen has been created by God. God made mankind in His own image and likeness. God is eternal. He is one God manifested in three personalities; God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. We are eternal also, being one person with a body, a soul, and a spirit. God created us with His attributes such as; free moral choice, a creative and thinking mind, and emotions among other things. He put us in a suitable environment for His good pleasure and glorious purposes. We had fellowship and shared joy with God. What happened?

Original Sin & Fall of Man

Through the consequences of disobedience mankind was separated from God and thus died spiritually and eventually will die physically. Since one man’s sin has spread death to all men, because all have sinned, every human is born with a sinful nature. Sinful man does not do what pleases God nor can he do anything but sin. We are depraved and are minds are darkened. We are dead in our trespasses and sins and are by nature children of wrath. We are lost and confined under sin. The wages of sin is death…

The Judgment of a Holy God

God is Holy and Righteousness and is wrathful against sin and must punish it. Our sin against God has brought His judgment of the earth and he has invoked a curse. This is why there are things like sickness and disease, hate and war, crime, and other terrible things that happen in this world, they are all a result of our rebellion against God. It doesn’t end there however, one day God will judge and punish mankind and us individually. This eternal damnation is separation from God in a place called hell or “the lake of fire”. Hell is a location where evil will be quarantined from the universe forever. It is a place of conscious torment with burning, darkness, weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The Mercy of a Loving God

Although God is just and must punish sin, He is also merciful and full of grace. He takes no pleasure in the punishment of the wicked, but that the wicked would turn and live. God’s justice has to be served. God’s anger and wrath against sin was satisfied by punishing Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus was our substitute on the cross; He was God’s sacrifice for our sins. He made Him who knew no sin to become sin for us, so that we might have the righteousness of God in Him. Jesus did what we could never do and that is living a perfect holy life without sin. He then died for our sins and shed His blood for us on the cross. He was crucified, He died and was buried, and on the third day He rose again from the dead. He is alive!

The Person of Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He is the Son of God, the second person of the Godhead. He came to this earth and was born of the Virgin Mary. He was brought up in a Jewish household and became a carpenter while taking no special privilege as God. He began His ministry at about thirty years old, going about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. He healed the sick, blind, deaf, dumb, paralyzed. He cleansed the lepers, feed the hungry, and taught with authority. He walked on water, cast out demons, and calmed the storms. He preached good news to the captives of sin and predicted His death and resurrection. His work on the cross has paid the debt in full for sin. He offers a pardon and the only way of salvation from the wrath to come. You cannot buy, earn or work for it, it’s a free gift. You must receive Him by faith.

What Must I do to Be Saved?

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved! There are a couple of components to saving faith. Saving faith is not a mere agreement with some facts, although you must believe Jesus is God and He rose from the dead. Saving faith is turning from your sin (Repent) and putting your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “Repent and believe in the Gospel”. Jesus said, if anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me.”

What Can I Expect in My New Life in Christ?

Paul said that we must enter eternal life through many tribulations. Jesus also said that we are first to count the cost before following him. This was not explained to me and so after I received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior I started to have difficulties that were not expected. As in any presentation of the Gospel (Good News) it is suggested that you start reading God’s Word (The Holy Bible) and obey it. Pray to God. Find a group of believers in Jesus Christ and meet with them on a regular basis.
