Selling Their Souls For Rock n Roll

By Larry Rosenbaum

Like many Christians, I have grown tired of the endless exposés of the evils of Rock ‘n Roll. So when I was given a 4-hour video series on the subject, I was not eager to watch it. However, this series, “They Sold Their Souls for Rock ‘n Roll,” does an impressive job of documenting the extent to which many musicians have openly given themselves to Satan worship and the influence they have had on today’s youth (and adults). The examples I give below represent only a tiny portion of the contents of this amazing video. I cannot describe the impact of watching tens of thousands of youth respond to these band’s calls to worship Satan.

AC/DC (Hell’s Bells):”You’re only young, but you’re gonna die. Won’t take no prisoners. Won’t spare no lives. Nobody’s putting up a fight…Take my bell. Take me to Hell. Satan get you. Satan get you…We’re coming to you. I’ll give you black sensations up and down your spine. If you’re into evil, you’re a friend of mine…We’re taking you down. We’re gonna get you.”

Deicide: “Damned to Hell. End my life. Wrath of God. Satan, sin, my soul blessed with fire. Throne of stone. Satan, I must die…Satan, suicide, end my life, I must die…In Hell I burn. No questions remain. In Hell I burn for Satan.”

Merciful Fate (Don’t Break the Oath):  “I deny Jesus Christ the Deceiver and I abjure the Christian faith, holding it in contempt, all of its works. I swear to give my mind, my body, and soul, unreservedly to the furtherance of our Lord Satan.”

Carlos Santana, who won an unprecedented nine Grammies in 2000 with his album “Supernatural,” said “I know it sounds New Age… but in my meditation, this entity – which is called Metatron – he said, ‘we want to hook you back to the radio airwave frequency. We want you to reach junior high schools, high schools and universities.’ ”

Eminem, the most influential musician of the 21st century, states in his song, Marshall Mathers: “I think I was put here to…destroy your little 4-year-old boy or girl.” . From his song, “I’m Back”: “I take seven [kids] from [columbine] and stand ’em all in line. Add an AK-47, a revolver, a nine, a Mac-11 and this ought to solve this problem of mine. And that’s a whole school of bullies shot up all of the time, ’cause I’m Shady…I take each individual degenerate’s head and reach into it, just to see if he’s influenced by me, if he listens to music, and if he feeds into this —-, he’s an innocent victim, and becomes a puppet on the string…” In his song, “Role Model,” he exclaims: “You can try this at home, you can be just like me…Follow me and do exactly what the song says: smoke weed, take pills, drop out of school, kill people and drink… Now follow me and do exactly what you see.”

Marilyn Manson (Brian Warner) wrotein his autobiography, “No matter what time the doctor [Church of Satan Founder Anton LaVey] called for me and where he summoned me to, I planned to be there. I admired and respected him. We had a lot of things in common…In short, we had both dedicated the better part of our lives to toppling Christianity.”

Nirvana is considered by many to be the most influential band of the 1990’s. Their leader, Kurt Cobain, said his stated goal was to “get stoned and worship Satan.” Cobain sported a statue of Mary, the mother of Jesus, “with its head cut off.”  He spray-painted slogans like “GOD IS GAY” and “ABORT CHRIST” on church and other buildings. Cobain would take song lyrics he was dissatisfied with and set them on “fire and leave [them] burning on the porch of the Open Bible Church.” He  “decorated” his apartment “with baby dolls hanging by their necks with blood all over them.” He carried with him perverted pornographic pictures of women in various poses with animals. He declared “ninety-nine per cent of humanity could be shot if it was up to me.” He maintained that only “one or two people” were worth saving. In his suicide note, he wrote, “I’ve become hateful toward all humans in general.”

The video goes into great detail about these and other popular musicians, who have influenced the majority of youth in the western world. They have turned hundreds of millions of people away from Jesus Christ and influenced many to turn to occultism, drugs, fornication, suicide, etc.

While the lyrics of some musicians are not as obscene as Eminem’s, or as blatantly satanic as Deicide’s, they have influenced millions of teens and pre-teens to rebel against their parents and commit fornication.

In their song “Space Cowboy,” NSync sings: “Here it comes, millennium. And everybody’s talking bout Jerusalem. Is this the beginning or beginning of the end? Well, I’ve got other thoughts my friend. We don’t need these prophecies. Tellin’ us what’s a sign, what’s a sign.” Instead of following Bible prophecy, NSync tells their fans to follow them, as the song continues: “If you wanna fly, come and take a ride. Take a space ride with the cowboy, baby. Ready or not make it hot.” Another song goes, “You got it – I want it, I’ll do whatever it takes, You got it – I need it…I need your lovin’, girl give it to me….I know you’ll like the crazy things we’ll do.”  Preteen fans routinely throw their bras and panties toward the stage at NSync concerts as a sign of sexual surrender to the band.

The video is produced by Fight the Good Fight Ministries, and is available for $30 from them at (866) 528-7884 or www.goodfight.org. Why are so many young people rejecting Jesus Christ and Biblical morality? Much of the fault lies with the music they are listening to. Parents, know what kind of influences your children are being exposed to and protect them.

Jesus said, “Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice” (John 18:37). But God has sent a powerful delusion to those who refused to love the truth (2 Thess. 2:10-11). “The devil…is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short” (Rev. 12:12). Millions of people, including myself, found our lives in ruins as a result of our involvement in drugs, Eastern religion and sexual immorality. In desperation, we turned to Jesus Christ and were gloriously saved by Him. Many others will be saved if we will obey our Lord’s command to bring the gospel to them.
